A Little Break by the Ocean 🌊🌲

I’m back from a little vacation — tired, happy, and with way too many photos on my phone. 😄

There was the ocean, enormous old trees, long walks, tiny libraries, random cats, birds that clearly considered the beach their personal property, and lots of moments when I simply stopped and looked around.

The ocean was beautiful… and very cold. 😂 But honestly, a few days away from the usual routine were exactly what I needed.

Now it’s time to get back to writing — hopefully with a little extra inspiration packed in my suitcase. ✍️🌊

The Duke of Kielder wished me a happy birthday!

Today is my birthday, and my twin sister has officially won the award for the best gift of the year!

She arranged a personal video message for me from Jake Stormoen, the actor who plays the Duke of Kielder in the adaptation of Sarah M. Eden’s novel Seeking Persephone, and I still get ridiculously excited every time I think about it!

Jake not only wished me a happy birthday, but also shared so many kind and encouraging words about my writing journey and asked about my books. I could never have imagined receiving a message like this one day—especially from someone whose work I genuinely admire.

And now I can’t help dreaming that perhaps one day we’ll meet again, but this time on a film set. We’re allowed to dream big, right? Clearly, I need to get back to writing—and write even faster! ))))

I hope you’ll share this happy moment with me, because I’m honestly on cloud nine after such an incredible gift ❤️

Happy Holidays

It is the most wonderful time of a year, according to some sources. Well, the year we’ve left behind wasn’t too easy or too happy. Or any other kind of ‘too’. Pretty hard, pretty interesting, pretty exhausting. Though, I spent it with my family staying safe – it is more than some people have.

But I do want to get more out of it. So I won’t pretend I am content with what I currently have. I am grateful that I am alive and I have work and my loved ones near. But it is always more out there, isn’t it?

So Happy Holidays everyone! Never stop seeking more for yourself! And may happiness and success pursuit you next year!

Nonsense

Yesterday Canada celebrated Thanksgiving Day. My second Thanksgiving celebration since I moved to Canada. However, last time, I didn’t feel the spirit of the holiday, I was horrified of being moved to another country.

This time it was way way better. We asked our friends to come by, we cooked so many tasty things, we watched movies and talked. That was heartwarming for real.

We also played some board games, and one was called Nonsense. You answer a question, right down the answer on a piece of paper, fold it and hand it over to a person next to you so they could answer a following question, but they couldn’t see what you answer before, and so on, so you get a little story in the end. A little random story, to be honest.

The weirder answers you put, the more interesting it gets in the end. More drama, said I yesterday 🙂

And it helped me with kind of a block in my head. All this overthinking and doubting bring you to an understandable end. You stuck. So I am glad I unstuck myself in such a pleasant way.

Have a great week everyone! And hope you’d feel joy out of this Autumn.

Working routine

Writing day after day creates a good habit of consistent writing. But also, at some point you might feel bumping into a wall. That is where you stuck in routine.

I tried different ways of avoiding that point. But the truth is – the only way not to get there – make writing not 100% routine. Always try something new, look for something new, wonder, dream.

And give yourself some rest. Don’t let guilt overwhelm you. You deserve this rest as well as you deserve to write, create, express yourself.

It works not only in terms of writing. But also in terms of life.
