The Duke of Kielder wished me a happy birthday!

Today is my birthday, and my twin sister has officially won the award for the best gift of the year!

She arranged a personal video message for me from Jake Stormoen, the actor who plays the Duke of Kielder in the adaptation of Sarah M. Eden’s novel Seeking Persephone, and I still get ridiculously excited every time I think about it!

Jake not only wished me a happy birthday, but also shared so many kind and encouraging words about my writing journey and asked about my books. I could never have imagined receiving a message like this one day—especially from someone whose work I genuinely admire.

And now I can’t help dreaming that perhaps one day we’ll meet again, but this time on a film set. We’re allowed to dream big, right? Clearly, I need to get back to writing—and write even faster! ))))

Сьогодні в мене день народження, і моя сестра-близнючка, здається, офіційно виграла конкурс на найкращий подарунок року!

Вона замовила для мене особисте відеопривітання від Джейка Стормоена, актора, що грає в екранізації роману Сари М. Іден – У пошуках Персефони, і мене досі аж підкидає від радості, коли я просто про це думаю!

Джейк не лише привітав мене, а й сказав багато теплих слів на підтримку мого письменницького шляху, запитав про мої книги. Я навіть уявити не могла, що колись отримаю таке повідомлення, тим більше від людини, творчістю якої щиро захоплююся.

A little update and a few announcements. So — “Blossoms in the Dark” is now fully available to read. Huzzah!

This story unexpectedly took much more of my time and attention than I originally planned. At some point, I realized I kept putting other projects aside because my thoughts always drifted back to Jane and Provence.

But now, after Jane and I finally came to an understanding, I can return to my other unfinished projects. First of all — “Drakaina,” the final part of the “Chimera” cycle. It still needs editing, but I’m already diving back into that world.

And now a little bit of my usual writer complaining and a lot of gratitude.

The life of a writer can be surprisingly lonely. Even when a story refuses to let you go and you practically live inside it, most of the time it’s still just you, a keyboard, a notebook, and hundreds of pages no one sees for months. Inspiration doesn’t always come easily, and support is even rarer sometimes. That’s why I’m genuinely grateful to have this blog and people here who understand how difficult it can be to write big stories.

Maybe that’s also why I’ve been thinking more and more about continuing “Ewayeen” in the form of shorter stories or novellas. Otherwise, I may end up stuck with it like George R. R. Martin… and I would really prefer to avoid that fate 😅 Writing one book for 5 or 10 years sounds impressive, but sadly I do not possess such magical resources.

So prepare yourselves, dear readers, I plan to be here much more often now. And I hope to support all of you the same way you’ve been supporting me this whole time.

Трошки анонсів і новин. Отже, “Квіти в темряві” тепер можна читати повністю. Huzzah!

Так вже сталося, що ця історія зовсім несподівано забрала в мене значно більше часу й уваги, ніж я планувала. В якийсь момент я навіть помітила, що відкладаю інші проєкти, бо весь час подумки повертаюся саме до Джейн і Провансу.

Але тепер, коли ми з нею порозумілися, я маю час повернутися до своїх відкритих проектів. Насамперед, до “Дракайни” – останньої частини циклу “Хімера”. Її ще чекає редагування, але я вже знову поринаю в цей світ.

І трохи мого ниття і слів подяки. Життя письменника буває доволі самотнє. Навіть якщо історія тебе не відпускає і ти живеш в ній – найчастіше це просто ти, клавіатура, блокнот і сотні сторінок, які ніхто не бачить місяцями. Натхнення приходить не завжди, а підтримки часом ще менше. Тому я справді дуже рада, що в мене є цей блог і люди тут, які розуміють, наскільки важко писати історії.

Мабуть, саме тому я все частіше думаю, що продовження “Еваїін” буде у форматі невеликих оповідань або повістей. Бо інакше я ризикну застрягти з ним як Джорджа Мартіна… а цього я все ж хотіла б уникнути.😅 Писати книжку 5, 10 років – це круто, але я такими ресурсами не володію, на жаль.

Тож начувайтеся, любі читачі! Тепер я планую бути тут частіше. І так само підтримувати вас, як ви весь цей час підтримували мене.

I’m finally sharing something new — a story that feels very different from what I usually write.

“Blossoms in the Dark” is a novel about a young woman who gradually loses her sight and learns how to live in a world that suddenly begins to exist through sound, touch, scent, and memory instead of light. It’s a story about fear, acceptance, love, and the strange way people sometimes begin to see the most important things only after the world goes dark.

Honestly, I wasn’t planning to write this book right now. But this story arrived in my head and stayed there so stubbornly that every other project had to wait.

And maybe, as someone with very poor eyesight myself, I understand my heroine a little more than I would like to.

I hope you’ll love Jane and her story as much as I already do.

Викладаю зараз дещо нове, за кілька днів виставлю всі розділи. Це історія, що зовсім не схожа на інші мої роботи.

“Квіти в темряві” – це розповідь про дівчину, яка поступово втрачає зір і вчиться жити у світі, налаштованом на людей без вад зору. Про страх. Про прийняття. Про любов. І про те, що іноді людина починає бачити найважливіше лише тоді, коли зникає світло.

Чесно кажучи, я не планувала писати цю книгу саме зараз. Але ця історія прийшла мені в голову й засіла там настільки міцно, що всі інші проєкти довелося змусити чекати.

І, мабуть, як людина з дуже поганим зором, я розумію свою героїню трохи більше, ніж хотіла б.

Сподіваюся, Джейн сподобається вам так само, як уже встигла сподобатися мені.

Це друга книга циклу «Хімера» — історія про світ, де магія виходить з тіні.

Джеймс Брістоул вирішує не вчитится в магічній академії, щоб уникнути пильного нагляду Ради П’яти. Підозрюючи їх у змові, через яку він майже загинув навесні, він прагне знайти свою тітку Шарлотту, також хімеру, аби захистити її від мисливців і Ради, і дізнатися більше про власні сили. Коли ж до міста прибувають вампіри, що також цікавляться хімерою, Джеймс розуміє – треба яканайшвидше діяти, перш ніж змовники схоплять його. Намагаючись розкрити плани Ради, він потрапляє в полон і дізнається, що його сила – ключ до апокаліпсісу, який ось-ось розпочнеться.

Autographs, legends and inspiration: my day at the Calgary Expo

My third Calgary Expo — and every time, it feels like falling in love all over again! ✨
Today was a real celebration: just one day at the festival, yet it felt like a whole year of memories packed into a few hours.
Once again, I stepped into a dream world: incredible cosplays, meeting legends, and an atmosphere filled with pure joy.
The highlight of the day was receiving autographs from Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and David Boreanaz!
Another kind of magic was taking photos — both with the stars and with amazing cosplayers. Each encounter added a spark of wonder to the day. 📸
And even more precious — the chance to exchange a few words with the people I had admired for years.
Those brief moments of conversation made each meeting even warmer and more unforgettable.
These autographs, photos, and memories are true treasures I’ll carry with me forever.
Sharing my photos and a little piece of my happiness.

Сьогоднішній день був справжнім святом: лише один день на фестивалі, але стільки емоцій, ніби прожила цілий рік.
Я знову потрапила у світ мрій: неймовірні косплеї, зустрічі з легендами, атмосфера щирої радості.
Особливо запам’яталися миті, коли вдалося отримати автографи від Келлана Латца, Пітера Фачінеллі, Майкла Дж. Фокса, Крістофера Ллойда та Девіда Бореаназа!
Окрема магія — це фото: і з зірками, і з неймовірними косплейщиками. Кожен з них додавав у день частинку справжнього дива. 📸
А ще — можливість хоча б на кілька хвилин перекинутися словами із тими, кого роками бачив тільки на екрані. Ці короткі розмови робили зустріч ще теплішою й незабутньою.
Ці автографи, фото і миті спілкування — більше, ніж просто спогади, це справжні скарби мого серця.

Challenges and revelations

August and September were tough on me and my family.

But giving up was never an option.

I’m glad I finally published Ice Beast Tale on booknet and wattapad. Be my guests and feel free to read and leave some comments for me.

Let’s hope the end of this year will be more peaceful for us.

P.S. Once I promised to Mr. Tolkien (in my thoughts of course) that I will never stop writing. It was nasty autumn afternoon and I felt pretty sad. But I remember that thought every day since and it gives me inner powers to keep going. I won’t let you down.
